Info: Jewel comes from a farm, Windy P'ass'tures, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.

When we went to the last Rocky Mountain Miniature Donkey Sale in Canada we saw Jewel and said 'oh, another gray-dun.' However we kept coming back to her and we didn't know why, but we finally decided that it was her head. Jewel has a really broad head and muzzle with forward set eyes that just really make her adorable. Then as we look at the rest of her we saw that she was a really well build jennet. She has a great broad full rump and good straight legs. Needless to say, Jewel grew on us while we were at the sale and "fathead" ended up coming home to Indiana.

Now that she has been on the farm for a few years we realize that Jewel is not "another gray-dun' but rather she is a light chestnut with a good deal of red highlights. Jewel has a lot of red genetics in her background and as she gets out in the sun they start to really show through, especially up on her face and front end.

Jewel had a beautiful jennet foal out of MGF T and T in the spring of 2014.

Jan.2019. Jewel has been exposed to our spotted micro jack, Rage, back in April 2019 so we are expecting a little surprise from her in June 2020. Stay tuned.
Followup, Jewel had a mostly white with black spots jennet on April 27, 2020. 20 3/4" at birth. We named her Judith after Judith Flundra, Jewel's breeder.
